Good Governance and Succession Planning Workshop 

Funded by the NSW Government

This interactive workshop will provide incorporated and non-incorporated social, recreational, cultural, sporting and other community-based committees and organisations with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Boards, Committees and Office Bearers.

Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills by broadly assessing their organisation’s current governance capacity and identifying areas for further development and improvement.

What are the principles of good governance?

– Purpose and strategy
– Roles and responsibilities
– Financial and non-financial performance indicators
– Compliance, risk management, culture and performance
– Membership and succession planning

Participants are invited to bring and discuss their governance resources.

About the speaker: Mary Hoodless, director of Karoo Consultancy, has substantial experience in organisational development delivering governance reviews, strategic planning and risk management frameworks to address the requirement for small and medium rural and regional not-for-profit and government organisations. Sixteen years as an executive director in community services, she previously held roles in tertiary and vocational education, research, aged care management, project management, quality and compliance, conference speaker, author of numerous published articles, and was a recent Australia Day award recipient for her volunteer and pro-bono work. Mary and her husband Peter run an intensive embryo transfer and commercial Angus beef enterprise in the beautiful Upper Murray.
